2009 Resolutions
One of the most important events that take place in order to allow the Youth in Government program to function, is the passage of resolutions by the South Carolina State Legislature. Every year both the House of Representatives and the Senate of the state of South Carolina must pass a resolution to allow us to use the chambers and committee rooms on the State House grounds.

Senate
On March 10, 2009, the Senate of the State of South Carolina passed Senate resolution S 555. This resolution granted us usage of their chambers and committee rooms for the 2009 SC YMCA Youth In Government Model Legislature and Court. The resolution can be downloaded by clicking the link below.

Thank your Respresentative and Senator
Please take a moment to read the resolutions, then we ask that you thank your Representative and Senator for allowing us the use of their facilities. It is an immense honor that they would allow us to use this historic venue to educate high school and middle school students about civic engagement. Without their support there would probably be no Youth in Government program in South Carolina. If you do not know who your Representative and Senator is, or if you just need their contact information go to the link below to help you find the information that you need.
